Ballé Studio
Ballé Studio is a Portuguese furniture design studio whose work draws on travel, cultural exchange, and traditional craftsmanship. Its origins trace back to a road trip from Portugal to Turkey, during which its founders encountered the architecture, textiles, and artisanal traditions that would shape their creative direction. From Portuguese villages to the bazaars of Istanbul, these experiences inspired a collection that brings diverse influences into contemporary furniture.
Patterns reminiscent of Portuguese azulejos and motifs inspired by Turkish carpets inform the studio’s approach to color, texture, and ornament. Its pieces combine sculptural contours with expressive materials, translating these references into furniture with a playful character. Across seating, tables, and cabinetry, the collection explores the connections between objects and the places, traditions, and memories behind them.
Made in Portugal, the collection places handcraft at the center of its production. Materials include walnut, oak, and decorative wood veneers, paired with bouclé, cotton velvet, and jacquard upholstery. Hand carving gives pieces such as the Moosh chair their distinctive contours, while the Majestic series explores contrasting wood surfaces and gold plated brass details.
