bibi bibi

bibi bibi is a furniture and interior design studio based in Mexico City, founded by Mexican designer Sofía Campos Delgado. Established in 2017 as Estudio SCD, the practice adopted its current name in April 2023. Its work spans furniture, interiors, custom commissions, and creative direction, bringing together sculptural forms, unexpected proportions, and a playful approach to everyday objects. Campos develops pieces that combine a distinctive visual identity with comfort, function, and longevity.

Drawing inspiration from the interiors and product design of the 1960s, Campos explores sensuality through geometry and the connection of curves. Rounded silhouettes and expressive volumes give familiar furniture types an unexpected presence, while materials encourage a tactile relationship with each piece. Natural wood, soft upholstery, and glossy finishes offer different ways to experience color and surface. This interest in touch and proportion shapes a design language that feels inviting, expressive, and open to experimentation.

The studio follows a slow design philosophy, collaborating with artisans and suppliers working in small workshops. This approach supports carefully managed production and close attention to the development of each object. All pieces are designed by Campos, maintaining a consistent creative direction across the collection. Her practice connects the freedom of an initial idea with the practical considerations of making furniture, giving craftsmanship and the experience of using a piece an essential role in its development.

The Slinky collection expresses these interests through upholstered sofas, modular seating, armchairs, and ottomans. Its fluid contours and architectural silhouette give the pieces a sculptural character, while options for fabrics and configurations allow them to respond to different interiors. Other designs include the Bipolar stools and bench, Bloom tables, and Capsule bar cart, extending the studio’s exploration of furniture across seating, gathering, and everyday rituals.

bibi bibi’s work has been presented at ZONAMACO in Mexico City and in the exhibition Por favor, tome asiento in 2024. The studio has also appeared in publications including Architectural Digest México, ELLE Decoration México, and a! Diseño. Working between Europe and Mexico, Campos maintains the studio’s operations in Mexico while drawing on a wider cultural perspective, developing objects and spaces that invite an emotional connection through their form, material, and character.
