Eero Moss

Eero Moss is a furniture design studio founded in 2018 by Romanian designer Tiberiu Cojocaru. Based in Transylvania, the studio creates sculptural wooden furniture in unique pieces and limited editions, guided by an appreciation for craftsmanship, natural materials, and slow living. Born in 1989, Cojocaru approaches each collection as a chapter in an evolving creative practice, exploring how the textures and patterns found in nature can inform objects made for everyday life.

Originally from Brașov, Cojocaru studied Yacht Production and Design at Southampton Solent University, where he developed an interest in fluid shapes, carefully balanced proportions, and traditional wooden boats. This introduction to woodworking became the foundation for his furniture practice. After returning to Transylvania, he purchased his first milled walnut tree, drawn to the intricate markings revealed within its slabs. The experience established an approach in which the wood’s individual character helps determine the design.

Working primarily with solid walnut and ash, Eero Moss produces hand-carved tables, shelving, and other furniture that explore contrasts in form and finish. Smooth surfaces meet deeply textured supports, while flowing contours interact with angular structures. Grain, irregularities, and variations in the timber contribute to each object’s identity. The resulting pieces invite attention both to their overall silhouette and to the tactile details of their construction, expressing Cojocaru’s close engagement with the material throughout the making process.

The studio’s Erosio and Brut 18 collections articulate two complementary interests. Erosio draws from erosion and the ways water gradually shapes its surroundings, with tabletops recalling the smooth river stones Cojocaru skipped across water as a child. Brut 18 explores the raw surfaces and direct sculptural presence associated with Brutalism. In works such as the EM110 coffee table, richly figured walnut is paired with a dark, hand-finished base, emphasizing the relationship between natural pattern, color, and volume.

Eero Moss has presented its work internationally, including in Adorno’s Animism exhibition at Alcova during Milan Design Week 2024. Installed at Villa Bagatti Valsecchi, the exhibition featured the studio’s EM204 walnut dining table within a shared setting of contemporary furniture and crafted objects. Cojocaru also exhibited at Älvsjö gård during Stockholm Furniture Fair 2025, bringing his exploration of sculptural woodworking to an international audience of collectors and design professionals.
