Mansi Shah
Mansi Shah is a South Asian artist and designer based in 29 Palms, California. Working across ceramic tile, cast glass, wood, and metal, Shah creates collectible design objects that sit at the intersection of function and sculpture. Her practice is anchored in material exploration and the alchemy of image-making, where intuition, process, and handwork guide each piece.
Shah’s work explores surface, structure, and internal architecture—using repetition, variation, and texture to transform everyday forms into expressive objects. Materials are allowed to retain their idiosyncrasies, developing warmth and presence through use and time. Humor and moments of considered irregularity play a quiet but intentional role, softening form and inviting closer engagement.
Shah received her BFA from the California Institute of the Arts, where her design education emphasized experimentation, image-making, and risk-taking. Now working from her high-desert studio, Shah continues to build a practice focusing on craft, material intelligence, and the emotional life of objects.
